Pianist Jacob Greenberg and I will be performing Elliott Carter's Of Challenge and of Love on a concert celebrating the publication of a special Elliott Carter edition of the literary magazine Chicago Review. This issue will assemble a number of perspectives on Carter's work, from scholars, musicians, composers, poets, artists--all thinking about the significance of Carter's relationship to the poetry of Hollander, Zukofsky, Ashbery, Bishop, Pound, WC Williams, Frost, and others.  I am honored that my article on singing Carter's music will appear in this publication!
